Hundreds of children have been sold to Chinese factories as slave labour, reports said today.

Extreme poverty and desperation has meant that children as young as seven are being trafficked in west Africa for cheap labour, according to human rights organisations.

Britain's Royal Navy has been urged to join the hunt for a ship carrying child slaves which has disappeared off the coast of west Africa.
