Up to 550 motorists had to call the AA for breakdown assistance on Monday, making it the busiest day of the year so far.

Less than 40% of Irish motorists would stop and offer assistance to a driver who has experienced a car breakdown according to a recent survey.

The number of Irish motorists experiencing a breakdown has increased by 4.3% year on year according to AA Ireland’s Annual Breakdown Review.
