The Government has said it will pass any test on tax laws after European chiefs launched investigations into tax breaks allowing Apple to save hundreds of millions.

The European Union is launching an investigation into tax deals that Apple, Starbucks and Fiat struck with several European countries - including Ireland - to see whether they violate competition law.
