A militant attack on the American University of Afghanistan ended early on Thursday with at least 12 people dead and dozens of others injured, a government spokesman said.

Militants have attacked the American University of Afghanistan, killing at least one person and wounding another 18, officials said, adding that security forces were still combing the campus in search of attackers.
