Low cost flights means you can do America on a budget

As Norwegian’s low cost US flights begin from Cork, David Gordon checks out the local sights

The launch of direct flights next week from Cork, Shannon, Dublin and Belfast to Providence TF Green Airport open up a brand new destination for travellers from Ireland.

The airport is situated just six miles from Providence and is connected by bus, train and highway to the city centre. Newport is just 30 minutes away and there are direct transfers from the airport to the resort town.
