News likely to appeal to families with toddlers seeking a break this autumn is the announcement from Irish Ferries of a late summer/ early autumn deal at a number of UK Haven Holiday parks.

Savings of €35 to €60 are available on four- and seven-night breaks are available at several popular parks.

Bookings must be made by August 31 for arrival dates between September 19 and October 20.

* California draws many sun-loving vacationers. Los Angeles, with its glamorous suburbs of Hollywood and Beverly Hills, attracts shoppers and sightseers, while San Francisco is a tourist favourite.
