Pampered in paradise

AFTER a 12-hour overnight flight from Heathrow, my husband James and I landed at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius.

The time difference from Ireland is only three hours, so we felt minimal jet lag.

A taxi sent from the Hotel Le Canonnier, drove us past field after field of sugar cane covered in big fluffy tracts of white flowers, like pampas grass.
