The competitive festival will take place from Friday 23rd of September until Sunday October 2nd and promises not to disappoint with 8 full days of thrilling competition, nightly entertainment, free gigs, street entertainment, lots of other family entertainment and a film festival including the gala Irish screening of “Soul Surfer”.

For the fourth time in the competitions history, Ireland is playing host to what has been described as the highlight of the European Surfing calendar.

A total of sixteen European countries will battle it out for the glory of becoming the 2011 European Surfing Champions. Bundoran has long been known as the ‘surfing capital of Ireland” and Eurosurf Bundoran 2011 is expected to be the biggest and best event yet.

Huge crowds of spectators are expected, as the cream of Europe’s surfers are expected to make this a top class spectacle, so you are guaranteed good breaks and great craic.

While in Bundoran for the surfing extravaganza why not keep yourself entertained with a variety of alternative activities to see and do in the area.

Coastal Scenery:

Donegal is world renowned for its rugged coastal scenery so why not take advantage of this, and enjoy a cliff walk that offers unrivalled views of Bundoran and out across the expanse of Donegal Bay.

On a clear day, the impressive sea cliffs of Sliabh League can be seen across the bay which makes for a fantastic sight.

The Cliffs stand at roughly 600 metres tall and are thought to be the highest sea cliffs in Europe.

If a life at sea is more your style, why not charter a boat from the Bundoran pier and enjoy some fishing or dolphin watching?

Or simply sit back and enjoy the beauty of Bundoran.

Adventure Lovers:

As well as the award winning blue flag beach, Bundoran is home to its very own Adventure Park.

The park is suitable for all the family with attractions catering for children and teenagers, as well as those seeking the thrill of a white knuckle ride or two.

Have some family fun with mini golf, bumper cars and go karts alongside the firm favourites The Twister and The Swinging Chairs. Bundoran Adventure Park is conveniently located a mere stones throw from the shoreline meaning you won’t have to miss out on too much of the surfing action.

Water Babies:

If the Atlantic Ocean proves a bit too cold for you, then Bundoran Waterworld may be more to your taste.

Children will be kept busy for hours with an indoor wave pool, and slide pool as well as the fastest slide in Ireland - The Whizzer Slide.

For the adults, there is a Sauna and Steam room available with loungers overlooking the breathtaking coastline and ocean and for those that need some pampering, The Bundoran Seaweed Baths and Aqua Mara treatment rooms are also available nearby.
