TRAVEL companies tend to come up with novel reasons why customers should choose one type of holiday instead of another.

* IRISH Ferries has introduced a product called “Maxi-Cruise” that allows customers take an extra overnight in the French port of Cherbourg to extend short stay trips.

The new product is based on their established return-trip Mini Cruise that is particularly popular amongst wine shoppers and DIY bargain hunters.

It allows travellers to extend their stay by spending one additional night in France, all at the same Mini-Cruise price of €99 return per person.

It will be available on selected Sunday departures from Rosslare during December and February next, with return sailings on Tuesday. Hotel accommodation can also be arranged.
