*FANS of the 1980s band Bucks Fizz should note they’ll be playing live at the Trabolgan Holiday Village in east Cork over the June Bank Holiday weekend.

Those interested in making a short trip of it, between June 2 and 6, can avail of special deals which start at €26 per person, per night.

As well as Bucks Fizz — the band, that is — guests can enjoy a host of other entertainment, including a Bank Holiday show staged by the Blue Coats, a variation of the old Butlin’s theme.

Occupants of every holiday home will be presented with a free book of vouchers worth €50 on arrival.

The vouchers entitle the holder to reduction offers including two go-kart rides for €10 and a trip on the new paddle boats for €1.

*DUBLIN’S thriving Docklands area will, for the third year in a row, stage a Maritime Festival over the June Bank Holiday weekend from June 3 to June 5.

Bigger and better than before, the festival has been extended to include a range of entertainment such as the appearance of all three Irish Tall Ships, together for the first time since the Waterford Tall Ships in 2005.

Along with the tall ships, a spectacular array of maritime-related street theatre, musical entertainment and other interesting acts from Ireland and beyond is planned.

For the kids, the Docklands Authority in association with The Ark — the children’s cultural centre — will present acclaimed storyteller Niall De Burca.

Music fans aren’t left out either with guitar, Cajun, jazz, blues, folk and much more.
