France offers holiday value

FRANCE is being heavily promoted this year as a value for money destination.

Today, however, is the cut off point for availability of further discounts (up to 15 per cent) from Irish Ferries 2004 Holidays in France programme.

Irish Ferries offer a variety of discounts, including a special discount available for double bookings. Those choosing a French holiday between June 10 and August 31 can avail of a special reduction of 100 in the cost of a return car trip on Irish Ferries services to Britain up to May of next year.

Other popular items including special 5-day and 9-day fares are available. For motorists and motorcyclists, the ever-popular Mini Cruise remains at 99 per person return.

WITH promises of free holiday draws, the Holiday World eXperience, Cork, is expected to attract a record attendance to Moran’s Silver Springs Hotel this weekend. The exhibition began last evening and continues today and tomorrow (both from 12 noon to 5pm).

Once upon a time the exhibitors were prohibited from selling holidays but that has changed. Visitors to the show have a choice of over 200 different types of holidays, from home, European and international destinations.

FITNESS enthusiasts may be interested to take note of the latest offering from The Chain Gang Cycle Tour company.

The company offers cycling holidays in select regions of France, touring in small groups of up to 15 people. But the company place a huge emphasis on the delights of food and wine available in the specific regions.
