Seán Burke: 'Comedy feels like a serious hobby more than anything — I feel lucky to be doing it'

The Irish comedian discusses lockdown, London, television and the strange journey from making sketches alone to finding success on screen

Seán Burke: “To get three series of a sketch show is fantastic. I’m really proud of that.”

Seán Burke’s washing machine is attempting to join the interview.

“Sorry,” he says from his home in London. “Let me know if that’s too loud and I can move.” It is fine, I tell him. Mine occasionally sounds like the fall of Saigon. Burke acknowledges this with the dry understatement familiar to the hundreds of thousands who follow his comedy online.
