Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of pop star Britney Spears, has praised the Irish for making her family feel so welcome during their recent trip to the Emerald Isle.

The actress and singer, best known for starring in teen sitcom Zoey 101, touched down in Limerick with her two daughters, Maddie and Ivey, last week and shared a video of their time in the Treaty County on social media.

The video post featured their plane journey, the view from their hotel room, Sarsfield Bridge, and their pit stop at the Glen Tavern. Spears simply captioned the post with three shamrock emojis.

Her daughter, Maddie Watson, also shared a number of snapshots from around the city, including images of Henry Street, Gino’s Gelato, and the ‘It Will Rise With The Moon’ artwork by the River Shannon near Honan’s Quay.

On Monday, Spears posted an update about their trip to Ireland, noting how welcome they had been made to feel during their time exploring the country.

She also spoke about finding out that Sweet Magnolias, the Netflix show she co-stars in, is number 2 in Ireland, comparing the fictional town of Serenity, in which the show is set, to the “warm and welcoming” community of Ireland.

Sharing images of her daughters at the Cliffs of Moher, King John’s Castle, Limerick city centre and Adare Manor, she captioned the post: “I was fortunate enough to visit Ireland, and it has some of the most breathtaking scenery you could ever imagine, but what makes it soooo special is the PEOPLE.

“We felt so welcomed by each every person we met from the hotel staff, to the local shops and more. So, one night I get in bed and turn on @Netflix and #SWEETMAGNOLIAS is #2 in IRELAND, which was crazy to see how much it connects to people from all parts of the world.

“I think it meant even more to see the people in Ireland loved it, be their community is so warm and welcoming to all who come, and that's what I believe Serenity is all about as well. I have soooo many more pics to share, but just wanted to express how much we enjoyed our time, but more then that how much we enjoyed each and every person we got to meet!”

In the comment section of her post, she said that Ireland was now her happy place and joked about filming Sweet Magnolias season 6 in Ireland.
