RTÉ 2FM host Aisling Bonner has joked that she is 'never getting divorced' after tying the knot with her longtime love, Alex Sperellis.

The pair were married in an intimate ceremony in Dublin at the weekend, surrounded by family and friends, including her co-hosts Carl Mullan and Roz Purcell.

Posting a carousel of photos from her special day on social media, the 29-year-old joked she’s “never getting divorced”.

“Never getting divorced. The greatest few days of our lives with the best people from both sides of the Atlantic,” she captioned the post.

The news of their marriage was met with well-wishes and congratulatory messages on social media.

RTÉ presenter Miriam O’Callaghan wrote: “Huge congratulations to you both @aisling_bon – beautiful couple, gorgeous family especially your Nana, fab photos. Now… I recommend you continue your experiment and leave your eye make up on!”

Dancing with the Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian wrote: “Congratulations you beauty.” Doirenn Garrihy said: “Simply gorgeous. Massive congratulations guys.”

Also congratulating the newlyweds were Tracy Clifford, Paula MacSweeney, James Patrice, and Justine Stafford.

Bonner’s photographer on the day, John Gilgooley, described their wedding as “an amazing day”, thanking them for trusting him to capture the special moments.

“Ais and Alex, it was just such an amazing day, THANK YOU for letting me capture it for you. You couldn’t have been more welcoming or more craic,” he wrote.

In the run-up to the wedding, Bonner had been posting her laid-back approach to wedding planning to Instagram.

Earlier this year, she posted funny sketches about motivating herself to organise her own wedding. Last week, she posted a video of herself walking home after collecting her wedding dress, letting people know she was “getting married tomorrow” as she passed them on the street.
