Spring is finally in the air after a long, dark winter and Easter is just around the corner which can mean only one thing – chocolate for breakfast.

The Easter Bunny is doing the rounds this weekend – popping up in different locations across Ireland. Just one of the many pop-up events and activities that families can look forward to this weekend.

Here are just some of the stand-out activities taking place over the next few days.

Alice in Wonderland 

The Irish National Stud & Gardens is inviting families into a world of imagination as a four‑day Alice in Wonderland–themed event takes over the iconic Kildare attraction.

Taking place from Good Friday, April 3, to Easter Monday, April 6, this is a fun-filled magical experience for all the family to enjoy.

Throughout the Easter weekend, families can visit the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, enjoy themed arts and crafts, and visit The Queen of Hearts and Cheshire Cat inspired rooms.

A highlight of the weekend will be the Alice in Wonderland Scavenger Hunt, running daily with prizes on offer for explorers who can solve the clues and complete the trail.

Easter trails 

Joe’s Farm, a family farm in Killeagh, East Cork, is set to welcome visitors back to their farm for an Easter Trail for the second year.

The Easter Trail is part of Joe Burns and his wife Sandra’s efforts to diversify the farm and educate people on farming.

The Easter Trail allows visitors to explore the farm on a set route and get the opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny.

Visitors will receive a map where they can follow the trail and stamp their card at different locations to earn their Easter Egg and face painting will also be an option.

The Easter Trail will run on April 3 and April 4.

No dogs allowed on the farm and attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather. More information and booking details can be found here.

Hook Head Lighthouse treasure hunt

Hook Lighthouse is hosting a day of family fun this Easter Sunday, April 5, inviting families to celebrate the season with games, creativity and coastal adventure at one of Ireland’s most iconic landmarks.

A free Easter Treasure Hunt around the lighthouse grounds will see children follow clues and explore the area in search of hidden surprises.

And if the young treasure hunters get the Treasure Quest wrong, the adults may be called upon to walk the plank.

Alongside the games and outdoor fun, visitors can also enjoy Easter arts and crafts sessions with resident artist Rose, offering a creative experience for all ages.

The arts sessions will run across the Easter weekend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9.30am until 4pm.

Dog Days Market 

Dog lovers – your favourite pop-up market is back in Cork this Easter.

The Dog Days Market is back this Saturday, April 4, encouraging people to bring their dog, nan, besties, or just themselves.

“Think wagging tails, local makers, good coffee, and a slow wander kind of morning,” they posted on social media.

The market takes place at St Peters Cork on North Main Street from 11am to 4pm.

Easter Bunny visits 

The Easter Bunny is popping into Merchants Quay until April 4, offering families photo ops and chocolate-fuelled fun in Cork city.

Organised by the team behind Santa’s Magical Cabin and HappyHalloween.ie, the small Irish business has built a loyal following for its festive family experiences.

The set-up promises a proper meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny and a crew of egg-stra cheerful helpers.

Aloft Dublin Easter stays 

Aloft Dublin City is hosting a new indoor camping experience just in time for families to enjoy this Easter.

The experience turns a hotel stay into a ready-made family escape, with Camp Aloft teepees in the room, Loftie robot room service and a hotel-wide egg hunt.

The package runs across the Easter school holidays, until April 12.

Steps and Sweat 

A women’s mini retreat, hosted by Bestie Walking Club, will take place at Hoco Sauna in Cork this Easter Sunday.

Steps & Sweat will take place from 10am to 1pm on April 5, inviting women to spend a restorative morning of movement and recovery together.

Enjoy a refreshing 5km walk along the Marina Promenade, followed by a sauna and cold plunge session at Hoco Sauna.

Lough Gur Scavenger Hunt 

An Easter scavenger hunt will take place at Lough Gur Lakeshore Park in Limerick this Sunday.

Children will be given a scavenger map at the visitor centre to use while searching the park for various clues which will help them solve a word puzzle.

Once they have this completed, they will return to the centre to claim their Easter prize.
