’Katie's married’: Katie Taylor seen with husband in Wicklow after dad shares wedding news

Boxing champion Katie Taylor has made a public appearance with her new husband, one month after her father revealed her marriage on a podcast.

The newlyweds visited the Tiglin Men's Centre in Ashford, Co Wicklow together last Friday, where Taylor gave a talk to the men who are receiving treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. They also had a tour of the facilities at the centre during their visit.

Senator Aubrey McCarthy, head of the organisation, posted on social media welcoming the couple.

Last month, Pete Taylor revealed his daughter's marriage while speaking on a podcast about their relationship. Her husband’s name has not been shared.

“Ever since the fight there with Katie, people are seeing the two of us back together, even some of the shit you hear about that,” he told Anything Goes with James English.

“I was reading somewhere that Katie Taylor never got married because of her father, he wouldn't let her.

“Katie's married, you know, and I'm thinking, 'Where are you getting this shit from?’” 

His revelation came after Taylor was seen wearing a wedding ring. She recently reconciled with her father after nine years, having fallen out when he split from her mother, Bridget. He had also been removed from the Olympic gold medallist's coaching staff during this time.
