I learned I had my part in The Wind That Shakes the Barley sitting in a pub in Highgate, North London, in April 2005.

It was a bit of an awkward one. I’d been for my third round auditions and I was with a great friend who’d also attended the auditions. So it was all ‘any news yet’, and we decided we’d have lunch out.
