If the pain is confined to one foot, I would check for any hard or cracked skin on the heel, which can cause pain, or a small flat wart (verruca) that can also cause pain when a person is standing.

My teenage daughter loves wearing sky-high heels when out on the town with her friends, but prefers flip-flops at home for comfort. She has recently started complaining of stabbing pain in her heels. It sounds like it could be plantar fasciitis. What would you suggest?
