AI-powered app could be ‘revolutionary’ for cystic fibrosis patients

An app that uses artificial intelligence (AI) could be “revolutionary” for patients with chronic lung conditions such as cystic fibrosis, with the technology able to predict when a patient will fall ill up to 10 days in advance.

Ireland has among some of the most severe strains of CF and also has the highest incidence (per head of population) of CF in the world, with three times the rate of the United States and the rest of the European Union.
