The festival of lights, Diwali, is just around the corner, and Lush is celebrating with a special collection in its honour.

Part of the brand’s co-create programme, it has been designed in collaboration with Lush staff around the globe who celebrate the festival themselves.

The Sparks of Joy gift set is sure to improve anyone’s morning shower, with a mango lassi-inspired shower gel and mango kulfi body conditioner to start the day with soft, sweet smelling skin.

€21.50.

The fashion fix

UrbanPal
UrbanPal

Yara Alul left the corporate world to found UrbanPal with her sisters, creating a fashion collective that celebrates and preserves Palestinian heritage and culture.

Partnering with Palestinian refugee seamstresses based in Jordan, the brand creates customisable fashion pieces while uplifting and empowering the Palestinian artisans.

The eclectic collection ships worldwide and includes original products such as totes, hoodies, caps, handstitched pieces and T-shirts featuring artwork from the children of Gaza.

Magee 1866 and LANDA have once again teamed up for a limited collection of handbags and phonebags just in time for gifting season.

The Palto tote, which blends classic brown leather with a camel and chocolate houndstooth tweed, is top of our wishlist. €599.

It’s so simple, you wonder why someone only came up with the idea now.

Maryland Cookies have launched a new sensation, the S’wich. One thick layer of chocolatey cream, sandwiched between two delicious cookies — it’s our new addiction for winter.

The architectural tour

Open House Dublin
Open House Dublin

Let curiosity get the better of you, and sign-up for a nosy around some of Dublin’s coolest buildings.

This year’s Open House Dublin festival of architecture takes place October 11-19, with the Irish Architecture Foundation inviting people to explore our future heritage and how our built environment can shape a better world.

The nine-day programme offers free access to everything from private homes to civic buildings, including guided tours of some of the city’s most iconic and rarely accessible spaces.

Highlights include the GPO, Áras an Uachtaráin, Dublin Airport’s Old Central Terminal Building, and the French Ambassador’s glamorous residence on Ailesbury Road, and bookings can be made online.

The home show

The PTSB Ideal Home Show returns to the RDS Simmonscourt on Friday, October 17, bringing Ireland’s home improvement professionals and suppliers under one roof to showcase the latest innovations in home build and renovations.

Dermot Bannon, Hugh Wallace, Francis Brennan, Carolyn Donnelly and Neven Maguire are among those on hand over the course of the weekend.

Tickets €15 with discounts available when booking online.
