Sweatpants sales are up, with everyone dressing down while working from home.

It’s difficult, in retrospect, to pinpoint when  panic about the coronavirus, Covid-19, took hold in the US, but it might be March 12. 

That day, stores ran out of canned goods. Streets emptied of cars. Tom Hanks had just tested positive for the virus. That evening, Scott Sternberg, a fashion designer, was lying awake, at home in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, thinking about Entireworld, a line of basics he had founded two years earlier.
