Tried and tested: Clarins Instant Light lip comfort oil

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil, €21, is a spring/summer make-up must. A refreshing entry into the market, it tows the line between cosmetic item and beauty treatment.

The subtly pigmented oils are packed with botanicals. The applicator is a luxurious, padded wand that distributes the weightless oils evenly, which feel endlessly moisturising.

It’s Clarins’ answer to a lipgloss, without the sticky texture that requires frequent reapplication. Think Lancome’s Juicy Tube, but all grown up.

The oils nourish the lips throughout the day and the high shine and pigment have fierce staying power, no need to reapply after lunch.

Ditching Kylie Jenner’s matte, oversized lip aesthetic, Clarins has produced a product that enhances the natural while contributing to overall lip condition.

If you’re not ready to let go of a defined look, the oils give extra oomph when applied over liner and lipstick.

High shine and deep conditioning without stickiness? Yes, please.

* Available at Clarins stockists nationwide from the beginning of May.

The vast majority (70%) feel confused about the causes of acne, with the most common reaction to a flare-up being to cover it up with make-up (60%), which isn’t the best tactic.

1. Sarah Jessica Parker — Lovely

2. Ariana Grande — Ari Sweet Like Candy

3. Britney Spears — Fantasy
