Wrinkles are often viewed as the most pressing skin concern for adult women, but a new study from Garnier PureActive reveals spots are a huge source of stress, with 40% of the women surveyed saying they’ve refused to be in photos because of a breakout, and a fifth cancelling or rearranging a date.
The vast majority (70%) feel confused about the causes of acne, with the most common reaction to a flare-up being to cover it up with make-up (60%), which isn’t the best tactic.
“Although expert advice may be needed in certain cases, for most women, establishing a good daily skincare routine and sticking to it is usually a good place to start,” advises dermatologist Dr Justine Kluk.
