Trend of the week: Summer leather
Wearing leather in warmer months may seem anathema, but it's one of the easier fabrics to incorporate every day.
Unlike synthetics, it's breathable and doesn't retain uncomfortable moisture.
It also doesn't crease like a poplin cotton or its louche linen counterpart.
Top tip? Invest in a super soft Nappa leather which is both pliable and resiliant.
As for a summer go-to, make it a leather wrap skirt (midi or mini) and pair with a crisp shirt and breezy sandals.
? Segue a leather shift dress from summer with bare arms and strappy sandals to winter with a tissue-thin polo neck, tights and knee high boots.
? Not a fan of the classic biker jacket? Opt for a kimono style gilet instead. These beauties boast more coverage and oodles of layering appeal.
? Work a leather skirt or shorts with anything from a t-shirt and sliders to a silk blouse and block heels.
? Top tip? Always get leather professionally cleaned and avoid plastic covers while hanging in a wardrobe. This promotes mould and mildew. Cover with a cloth garment bag or a plain bed sheet instead.
