INSPIRATION

Florals may be more of an expectation than a trend but as is the case with most style standards, the bar continually needs to be raised.

This season is no exception, with winter florals set against a backdrop of interior-inspired fabrics like woven jacquards, textured brocades, tapestries and heavilywrought appliqués.

These are hardy perennials more so than darling buds and, as such, feel more matched to the mercurial temperament to the darker months.

Bloomin’ lovely, we say.

STYLE NOTES

Not big on bouquets? Try a more discrete cherry blossom or make a floral maxi winter-worthy by adding tights, ankle boots and a folkloric gilet.

Stuck on styling cues? The indomitable roll neck is the perfect partner for a fancy floral skirt.

Simply opt for a dark fine knit to complement a notice-me print.

This season’s florals are more femme fatale than flirty. Take reference from Dior’s ‘Garden of Earthly Delights’ and play with sheer fabrics that hint at what lies beneath.
