On the red carpet: Helen Mirren, Carey Mulligan, Elisabeth Moss, Rose Byrne

Helen Mirren is fabulous. She and Jane Fonda are living proof that the cocktail hour of your life is no time to give up on fashion. 

This lacy Badgely Mischka gown was a gorgeous choice for the Tony Awards. The actress accessorised with a Judith Leiber clutch.

The forgiving darts on this sculpted Balenciaga gown accommodated Carey Mulligan’s baby bump nicely at the Tonys. A burgundy dress is unseasonable but suits the actress’ fair skin and classic style.

Elisabeth Moss chose a beautifully embellished gown from the late Oscar de la Renta’s last collection for the 2015 Tony Awards. She was smart to let the floral embroidery be her major accessory but I would have liked to see a more elegant hairstyle.

Rose Byrne vamped it up at the 2015 Tony Awards in this plunging red number by Spanish label Delpozo. This dress is from next season and was part-inspired by Aussie artist Rhys Lee’s vibrant paintings. Her clutch is from Oroton and her pumps are by Brian Atwood.
