Street trend: Alison Nulty

What are you wearing?

Today I’m wearing a jacket (€275) and top (€69) from Weardrobe Tralee, M&S trousers (€65), Carvela by Kurt Geiger shoes (€35 on sale) and a Parfois bag (€35).

Describe your style in three words?

It’s only fashion (so have fun).

How long does it take you to get dressed in the morning?

Ten minutes. During the working week I try to plan my outfit the night before. If I don’t, I could (and have) end up looking like like someone who got dressed in the dark!

Fashion or function – which word best describes your attitude to clothes and why?

Definitely both. I try to buy pieces that’ll suit my work style as much as my off-duty wardrobe. Whatever I’m wearing I like to be comfortable, stylish, and in tone with my surroundings.

What’s your biggest source of style inspiration?

I love going through the glossy mags and waiting to see how the high street interprets high fashion. With an hourglass figure I also love looking to to starlets of bygone eras for inspiration.

Where do you like to shop?

Weardrobe Tralee,TheOutnet.com, TK Maxx and Tralee’s many charity and second-hand shops.

Who or what is Ireland’s greatest undiscovered gem?

Kerry is full of stylish women. As a result, the county’s charity and second hand stores are peppered with their castoffs. I found a Marchesa mini-dress in one Tralee charity/second-hand shop and an Armani mac — with the tags still on — in another!

Why does your style/outfit work?

Once you know what your shape is, dressing it becomes easy.
