Street trend: Katriona O’Mahony

Name: Katriona O’Mahony

Street trend: Katriona O’Mahony

Occupation: PR Specialist for EMEA, OtterBox From: Bandon, Cork

What are you wearing?

I’m wearing a hat (€24), necklace (€20), belt (€8) and scarf (€15) from Parfois; a Topshop coat (€100) and jeans (€50), Zara shirt (€40), Steve Madden shoes (€79.99), Thomas Sabo ring (€250) and Longchamp bag (€90).

Describe your style in three words?

Smart, contemporary, classic.

How long does it take you to get dressed in the morning?

For work, about 15 minutes. If I’m going out somewhere, about an hour.

Fashion or function — which word best describes your attitude to clothes and why?

Fashion, because if it makes you feel great you automatically feel more confident. You can dress for function to a certain extent and for certain occasions, but it’s always important to feel like a million dollars!

What’s your biggest source of style inspiration?

Fashion blogs, magazines and Pinterest.

What do you think of Irish street style?

We definitely have street style to rival London and NYC! People aren’t afraid to experiment and be creative which is great.

Where do you like to shop?

For everyday clothes, Zara and Topshop are my go to places and the Dress Bar in Cork for special occasions. I’ve also recently discovered Parfois in Mahon Point, which has revolutionised my outlook on accessories.

Who or what is Ireland’s greatest undiscovered gem?

Ireland has some fantastic boutiques, but they often don’t have a platform to showcase their collections as some aren’t very active on social media. Events like Cork Fashion Week and local fashion shows are a great way for people to find inspiration.

Why does your style/outfit work?

The white shirt smartens up the jeans and the accessories glam it up.
