Street Trend: Laura McCormack

What are you wearing?

I’m wearing an embroidered skirt (€23.75) and paisley shirt (€15.75) from FOREVER21, a Penneys belt (€3) and wedge sandals from River Island that I bought a few seasons ago.

Describe your style in three words?

Bohemian, colourful, comfortable.

How long does it take you to get dressed in the morning?

Fifteen minutes normally if I have an outfit in mind. However, if I’m heading out, it does take me longer to get ready but that’s mainly due to make-up and hair.

Fashion or function — which word best describes your attitude to clothes and why?

A bit of both. It’s always nice to be wearing something in fashion that you love and that looks good with the added benefit of comfort.

What’s your biggest source of style inspiration?

Vanessa Hudgens: her style is very cool and care-free, which looks effortless while still looking fabulous.

What do you think of Irish street style?

I love it, most especially when I come up to Dublin because I think girls are extremely style conscious; it’s so different to what I would see in the countryside. I feel people express who they are in what they wear, and it’s great for inspiration as it’s so versatile.

Where do you like to shop?

Zara, FOREVER21 and Bershka are my staples.

Who or what is Ireland’s greatest undiscovered gem?

Siopaella in Temple Bar would be one of my favourites. I can never seem to pass their window without stepping in!

Why does your style/outfit work?

My outfit works because it’s a reflection of my personality: easy going, laid-back with detail and colour — and hopefully a bit of style!
