INSPIRATION

Is it fashion? Is it art? Well, a bit of both. Runways took a museum-worthy turn as designers sought inspiration from the masters: portrait prints at Prada; Kandinski paint splashes at Jil Sander, not to mention multiple pop art references from Henry Holland to Kenzo. Brush strokes may be broad but this trend looks set to be a bona fide collector’s item.

STYLE NOTES

¦ Anchor a printed skirt with a solid turtleneck and ankle boots for daytime chic.

¦ Brave it a la Celine with two contrasting prints. Top tip: keep the colour palette consonant for a seamless look.

¦ Edge out a simple jeans and tee combo with a paint splash leather jacket. Add heels and a metallic clutch for a.m. to p.m. ease.

¦ Make a statement with a Prada inspired portrait print. Complete with a slick side parting and sculpted brows.
