INSPIRATION

Sports luxe continues to win big in the trend stakes from bomber jackets, tennis visors and pool sliders at Marni to Alexander Wang’s cropped top and gym short combos at Balenciaga.

While tennis silks and boxing references do the rounds from Marc Jacobs to Pucci, Irish designers Joanne Hynes and Danielle Romeril take a less literal approach in their aerodynamic approach to fabrication. The contenders are many but the look is unified – clean and comfortable.

STYLE NOTES Windcheaters are practical and pretty, especially when teamed with a peplum skirt and sneakers.

Too much? Opt for easy touches like a racer back straps, drawstring waistbands or neoprene fabrics.

Much like the wedge trainer, this season’s pool slider looks set to be the 2014 cult ‘ugly’ shoe.
