It’s official – the bomber jacket is the new blazer. Worn by WW1 American pilots, skinheads, scooterboys and hip hop impresarios, the bomber is now a mainstream must-have. This season’s catwalks were a case in point: sheer at Erdem, 3-D petal appliqués at Marni; not forgetting the floral satin beauties at Jonathan Saunders. Ambassadors for the trend? Model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne and Prince Harry. Rumour has it Michelle Obama gifted HRH a brown leather bomber on a recent trip to the U.S. Consider this the royal seal of approval.
