Botticelli painting expected to fetch more than £60m at auction

An enigmatic painting from Renaissance master Sandro Botticelli will go up for auction next year – and it could fetch more than its 80 million dollars (£62.24 million) estimate despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Botticelli’s 15th-century portrait of a nobleman in Young Man Holding a Roundel is the highlight of Sotheby’s Masters Week sale series in New York in January.
