Emmerdale actor Jay Benedict has died from 'Covid-19 complications'

Benedict played Newt's father in Alien sequel Aliens starred in Emmerdale in 1997, playing businessman Doug Hamilton.

Actor Jay Benedict has died due to complications arising from a Covid-19 infection.

The actor, who appeared in a range of films and TV shows such as Emmerdale and Batman, The Dark Knight Rises, died on Saturday aged 68.
