Play set in Armagh during the Troubles receives nine Tony award nominations

Nominees include Dublin native Fionnula Flannagan for her role as Aunt Maggie Far Away and Belfast’s Laura Donnelly, who plays Caitlin Carney.

Irish based play, The Ferryman has received nine nods at the 2019 Tony Awards ceremony nominations.

The play, set during The Troubles, tells the story of the family of a former IRA activist, living in their farmhouse in rural County Armagh in 1981.
