Meat Loaf expected to make full recovery

Rock star Meat Loaf is recovering in hospital in Canada after collapsing on stage during a concert.

The 68-year-old was taken ill on Thursday night "due to severe dehydration near the end of his concert at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada," his agent said.

A statement from Jeremy Westby, of Webster Public Relations, said Meat Loaf extends "heartfelt thanks for everyone's support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery".

He added: "Any concert postponements/rescheduled dates will be announced at a later time. Thank you for your support and understanding."
