Domhnall Gleeson has proven what a professional he is after the taxi he was in crashed during a live radio interview – and he still carried on with the chat.

The Irish actor was in a cab on the way to the airport in London when he was in an accident on the road while chatting to Ryan Tubridy on RTE Radio One.

While discussing his dad Brendan, the actor suddenly said “Woah!” and a worried Ryan asked him was he alright.

“There was just a crash. We’re not speeding, we’re going at a reasonable rate,” he said.

“I don’t want to get [the driver] in trouble, he’s an excellent driver! We’re going to the airport.”

Fast forward to the 13.50 mark to hear the crash

Domhnall recently was up for an award against his dad at the British Independent Film Awards and even though he lost out to him, he still had to go on stage to accept the award.

“I was nominated against my father and I lost to him, my dad was not there so I had to go up and accept the award,” he said.

“Alicia Vikander was the lady handing out the trophy and she was standing there in horror because she thought that I had heard the wrong name and was strutting up because I thought that I had won.”

“That was one of the more awkward experiences of my life.”

To make matters worse, another A-list actor arranged for Domhnall to go up and accept his award on the very same night.

“Brilliantly, Tom Hardy is in The Revenant and later on in the night he won Best Actor and he wasn’t there so he organised for my name to be called out again to accept the award for him even though I had nothing to do with it.”

The Star Wars star also discussed his recent movie Brooklyn and admitted he signed on just so he could work with Saoirse Ronan.

“We knew each other before and it was really my main reason for doing the film. It was an opportunity to work together and she was amazing.”
