Introducing Ravelóid - your brand new Irish music festival for 2016
Pondering which music festivals to throw your hand at next year? Look no further, introducing Ravelóid …
Ravelóid is an exciting new music and culture festival taking place in 2016 from June 10, 11 and 12 at Ardgillan Castle, Dublin.
The festival will be the biggest Irish language event of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme and camping will be available free of charge - yes, free of charge!
This will also be the first EVER summer festival putting the Irish language at the centre of a dynamic mixture of contemporary and traditional music, comedy, dance, literature, discussions and workshops.
“But I don’t speak Irish very well,” we hear you ask?
Don’t worry - the chairperson of Ravelóid, Tomaí Ó Conghaile assured that “there won’t be an oral exam at the gate”.
They even provide concert goers with a few handy Irish phrases that will get you through the weekend.
We’ve got a feeling these could even come in handy over the winter months too.
The festival's official launch is being held tonight in Dublin, with live music from Kíla and hosted by 2FM’s radio presenter and gaeilgeoir, Eoin McDermott.
Now, if that doesn’t get you in the mood, we don’t know what will - YEOW!
More information coming soon …
