Brian Ormond and Maria Walsh to host TV3 Toy Show
It’s that time of the year again,
And this year, TV3 is back with its Christmas show airing on Friday, November 20 at 9pm.
The station announced today that popular TV presenter Brian Ormond and former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh, will both act as the hosts of the 90-minute show - with of course very special guest performances and a few surprises.
Speaking about hosting, Maria said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for me. I’ve always dreamed of being part of a toy show.
"When TV3 approached me I was over the moon and I just thought this was right up my alley and something I could bring a lot of energy to and have loads of fun in the process.
“I love everything about Christmas and the magic it brings to children; I’m really looking forward to playing with all the kids and toys”
Maria has been stepping in for Lucy Kennedy on the Seven O’Clock show this week and judging by her performance, we cannot wait to see what she will bring to the annual toy show.
Brian Ormond said: “I’ve worked on a lot of great shows but I’ve always wanted to host a Toy Show.
"I’m a bit of a big kid myself so when TV3 approached me I was absolutely thrilled. I’m looking forward to getting into the Christmas spirit".

This year TV3 will also air a special programme showing the casting for the TV3 Toy Show.
In a bid to find this year’s talented young performers and ‘Toy Testers’ to join this year’s TV3 Toy Show, Maria met hundreds of shortlisted candidates in the Seán O'Casey community centre in Dublin’s East wall.
From music to dance, choirs to solo artists, and of course the all-important toy testers, Maria was tasked with selecting an exceptional bunch of young performers to join this year’s TV3 Toy Show.
The entire casting process will be shown in a special programme entitled The Toy Show Auditions before the Toy Show itself.
The date of the special auditions has yet to be revealed.
