The Vengaboys attract huge crowds to the Electric Ireland Stage at Electric Picnic

Crowds swarmed to the Electric Ireland Stage to see one of the 90’s most loved groups, the Vengaboys.

The Dutch Eurodance group took the crowd back to the 90’s with their best known singles Boom Boom Boom Boom, We’re Going to Ibiza and We Like to Party.

Appearing on stage in sparkling outfits, they greeted the ever growing crowd which expanded beyond the outskirts of the tent, all anxious to see the Dutch natives perform.

The crowd erupted in cheer as the set began with the song We’re Going to Ibiza.

The tightly jammed tent didn’t stop people from jamming out as everyone’s inner 90’s disco diva came to life in the Electric Ireland Stage.

Consider yourself one of the lucky ones if you managed to get a good view of the stage – even if the use of rubbish bins are what gave you that extra bit of height.

Taking the lyrics into their own hands, some of the crowd sang, “Boom boom boom boom I want you in my tent” as the Vengaboys performed the popular song Boom Boom Boom Boom.

The Vengaboys thanked the crowd and asked for their participation in the next song.

“When I say venga you say boys,” they said and the whole crowd shouted “Vengaboys Vengaboys”, “and when I say up, you say down,” the band continued. “Up down up down,” the crowd responded.

The whole crowd was jumping up and down as the song We Like to Party blared over the speakers.

The vibe in the Electric Ireland tent was simply electric tonight with everyone reminiscing in the 90’s.

As the set came to an end the band thanked everyone for coming out to see them.

The group which consists of lead vocalists Kim Sasabone, Denise Post-Van Rijswijk, Robin Pors and Donny Latupeirissa have sold an estimated 25 million records worldwide.

The Vengaboys was one of those sets that was just all around great fun because every song is so well known that everyone was singing and clapping along throughout the whole set.

It’s safe to say that everyone who went to see the Vengaboys tonight most certainly caught some 90’s disco fever.

The Electric Ireland Stage was home to 90’s cult movies and 90’s dance off competition during the day.

A boxing ring-like stage was set up in the middle of the tent and competitors took each other on in a dance off to snippets of 90’s music.

The dance off competition saw every dance move imaginable performed and gave the hundreds watching a great laugh.

The Electric Ireland tent has held some great events over the weekend and the Vengaboys’ performance just topped it all off.

It’s hard to believe that tonight is the last night of Electric Picnic 2015. Time flies when you’re having fun as they say and I’m sure all of this year’s Electric Picnicers would agree with me as it has been an amazing weekend.

Florence and The Machine are the headlining act to look forward to in the Main Stage tonight at 10:30pm.
