Return of the Jedi? Star Wars crew may film more on Skellig

The producers of the latest Star Wars movie are considering filming further scenes at Skellig Michael off the Kerry Coast.

The Irish Times reports the production team visited the UNECSO World heritage site a number of weeks ago.

Last year Disney Lucas films spent two days on the Island shooting scenes for The Force Awakens, which is due for release in December.

Ecologists had expressed concern about the impact of filming on the island. The Film Board would not confirm or deny any negotiations with the producers.
