Paltrow under fire for $29 food budget tweet

Gwyneth Paltrow has come under a bit of criticism for her latest health venture.

The Hollywood actress and health fanatic has agreed to live as if she is on food stamps for a week, like 46 million Americans have to, and had a budget of $29 to do her food shopping.

So she went to her local gourmet food emporium, and bought seven limes, two different kinds of lettuce, soy beans, coriander, a dozen eggs, brown rice and an avocado.

One comment on twitter said: "ah yes, organic soy beans and wholegrain rice - she really nails American poverty".

The limes have come in for the most criticism, with some also saying that people on a budget eat pasta, because they cannot afford kale.

Others said she could have got a lot more if she shopped at Walmart.
