Leftfield DJ to headline Good Friday festival

Leftfield's Neil Barnes is to headline the BD Festival in Glendalough House, Co Wicklow on Good Friday, organisers have confirmed today.

It is the eighth annual outing for the "bring your own beer" festival, formerly known as Barn Dance Festival.

Visual art, and specialist food will also be on offer at the event, which was voted Ireland's Best One Day Festival by public vote at the most recent Irish Festival Awards.

Techno DJ Ben Sims, Offaly man Mundy and Detroit-based electronic producer Omar S will be among the acts performing.

A bus service will run from Custom House Quay in Dublin from 3pm on the day and every 30 minutes thereafter with tickets priced from €10.

Tickets are priced at €60 plus booking fee and are available from the festival website, as well as on tickets.ie.

BD Festival co-promoter Brian McDermott, said: “I can’t believe it has been eight years since we started what was a one stage, private gig back in 2007.

“BD Festival continues to grow this year and we’re delighted to have Whelans, Abstract, Subject and Together Disco involved to bring their collective, creative wisdom to Ireland’s favourite one day music and arts festival”.
