RTÉ cut the Oscars during John Legend’s ‘Glory’ last night and people were not happy

John Legend’s performance of ‘Glory’ was one of our top picks from the Oscars Sunday night, so of course we were waiting patiently to watch it on our big screen’s last night.

Especially when the anthem went on to win the award for Best Original Song.

It also got three, yes we mean three, standing ovations during the performance and moved several people to tears.

Did we build it up enough?

Well, when RTÉ broadcasted their edit of the Oscars ceremony last night – which had to be edited down to 90 minutes from the original several hours – the song was cut in the middle to go to an ad break.

And let’s say that people were not happy but don't worry we've good news below these angry reactions. Just to cheer you all up a bit.

You can’t even watch the performance on the RTÉ Player.

But according to 2FM’s Rick O Shea, it wasn’t there fault.

But let’s not point the finger just yet, we’ve great news!

You can witness the Oscar winning song live in the Marquee, Cork this summer.

John Legend is set to play the venue on June 23, tickets are on sale next Wednesday, February 25 from ticketmaster.ie.

Now doesn’t that make you feel better?

Ok, here’s the Oscar performance in full just in case.
