The Lego Movie directors mock Oscars in BAFTA speech
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller – the directors of The Lego Movie – used their speech for winning the Best Animated Film at the 2015 BAFTAs to mock the Oscar voters who snubbed them.
The directing duo took to the stage last night, at the Royal Opera house to collect their BAFTA for Best Animated Film and their speech - which was not shown in full during the live TV coverage - went like this:
“You are our favorite Academy by far!”
“You guys win the award for best Academy. This is the end of the awards road for us, so we can say whatever we want. There’s no one left to impress.”
We’ve a strong feeling that the statement might have been aimed at another well-known academy, perhaps one

In a backstage interview post speech, the duo explained “We were having fun up there, but it’s a great year for animation and whoever wins is going to deserve it.”
Fair play Guys and either way, it has to be said “Everything is awesome, everything is cool when you're part of a team!”

They also gave an update on the state of The Lego Movie 2. “[We’re] about a third of the way through the script for Lego 2. A little behind. More after being inebriated tonight.”
