Glen Hansard's nieces wow judges on The Voice Ireland

Amy and Sinead Hansard, nieces of Oscar-winning musician Glen Hansard have wowed judges on this year’s Voice of Ireland.

The sisters took to the stage hoping to follow in their famous uncles footsteps and after a great response from the judges they will now both go head-to-head in the battle stages.

First up was Sinead, 23, singing her own version of Mr Probz’s ‘Waves’, which quickly impressed Irish judge Una Foden.

“That was great. I had to push that button. I think you will be amazing in the battles, welcome to Team Una,” The Saturdays star said.

Amy then sang a cover of Ariana Grande’s ‘Problem’ which impressed Brezzie and S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens.

“It would have been very awkward if you hadn’t gone through. I love that vocal, it’s vulnerable, it’s not perfect and I really love that to mould and work on,” Bressie said to the 18-year-old.

Although Amy decided she wanted to join Team Rachel instead.

Amy and Sinead have both performed with their Frames’ frontman uncle in the past, a talent that clearly runs in the family.
