Amazon signs Allen to write new TV series

Amazon says it has signed Woody Allen to write and direct a new TV series for its video streaming service.

The half-hour series will be shown on Amazon's prime instant video.

The 79-year-old film-maker said he didn’t know how he got into the project, adding he had "no ideas and was not sure where to begin".
