Of course there is no argument that Home Alone is on everyone's must-watch movie list this Christmas, so here is something that will make the 315th time you watch it a lot more enjoyable.

The movie holds a Guinness World Record.

Home Alone was the highest grossing film of 1990 and earned a Guinness World Record as the highest-grossing live-action comedy ever.

Raking in $17,081,997 (€13,855,1350) in its opening weekend, the movie maintained its number one spot for 12 weeks and remained in the top 10 until June of the following year.

The McCallister house is now a tourist attraction.

Located at 671 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Illinois, all the shots except those in the bedrooms and the first floor were shot on location.

In 2012, the property sold the property for $1.585m (€1.29m).

Robert DeNiro turned down the role of Harry.
