Singer and animal rights campaigner Morrissey has called off an appearance today on a US late-night talk show after refusing to share the stage with the cast of reality series 'Duck Dynasty'.

The 53-year-old former Smiths frontman said he cancelled his appearance on ABC TV’s Jimmy Kimmel Live because he could not perform on a show with people who “amount to animal serial killers”.

ABC said the Churchill band would perform on Kimmel's show today but declined to comment on the switch.

A&E’s 'Duck Dynasty' TV show follows the Robertson family of Louisiana and its business selling duck calls and decoys.

A&E did not immediately respond to requests for comment from it and the Robertson family.

A person familiar with the Kimmel show’s plans confirmed that Morrissey would appear but his performance would be rescheduled.
