Jackman confirmed for 'X-Men' movie
Hugh Jackman has been confirmed for 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past'.
The 44-year-old actor will definitely reprise his role as clawed superhero Wolverine in the sequel to 2011's 'X-Men: First Class', joining an all-star cast including Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
Director Brian Singer announced the news via Twitter, posting: "I would officially like to welcome @RealHughJackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited! More to come..."
This will mark the seventh time Jackman - who unveiled his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last Thursday - has played Marvel comic book character Wolverine on the big screen.
He recently roused speculation he would be appearing in the film by hinting he was negotiating a bigger role which would give his muscular alter ego a more exciting storyline.
Hugh said: "I did a three-hour, three-word cameo in the last one. It literally took me three hours. I have been talking to Bryan Singer about doing something in this. There will be more claws in this."
The Australian-born hunk will next be seen in spin-off 'The Wolverine', which he believes will be the "best" film of the franchise to date as the titular character delves deeper into his identity.
'X-Men: Days Of Future Past' is set for release on July 18, 2014.
