JLS: 'X Factor' needs 'best judge in world' Cowell

JLS think 'The X Factor' "needs" Simon Cowell to return to the judging panel.

The 'Hottest Girl in the World' hitmakers – who finished second on the competition in 2008 – believe the music mogul should return to the ITV1 programme because he is the "best judge in the world", although they admit it will be "very difficult" because he has such a busy schedule.

Marvin Humes told BANG Showbiz: "Simon has to return, he has to. He's the best judge in the world. He has to return, definitely. He still does 'Britain's Got Talent' and US 'X Factor' so with his schedule it will be very difficult but I think he has to come back."

While the group still enjoy the talent show, they don't see why there has been such a huge public outcry after Ella Henderson – who was the hot favourite to win this year's series for the majority of the competition – was voted off the programme last weekend.

Aston Merrygold said: "Every year it's the same thing. This is the thing about the show. It happens every year. Someone has to go.

"If people don't vote for them, they will go home. This is how these shows have worked for the past 10 years or whatever it is. We've seen it over the years, it's always the same thing.

"There's a campaign that will go on, and people will say we want this person back. It happens. It happened in our year with Laura White."

The group also think it is "unfair" that Christopher Maloney and Rylan Clark have received such a barrage of criticism on Twitter.

Marvin added: "One thing I don't like is the witch hunt with Chris and Rylan. I think it's unfair. Those guys, all they did was enter a competition to try to change their lives and get exposure.

"It's not their fault they're still here. People are voting for them. Everyone says this thing about a fix. What is a fix?

"When people say it's a fix I don't understand what they mean. It's ridiculous. I think if something was a fix the favourite would win. It doesn't make sense to me."

JLS feature on seasonal special 'A Very JLS Christmas' on Sky1 HD next month and their new single 'Give Me Life' is released on the December 23.
